What do you do as a healthcare assistant?

In your role as a healthcare assistant, you will work with basic care, facilitating for the patient during meals, personal hygiene, and mobility.

Together with nursing assistants or nurses, you will participate in the care of the patient. As a healthcare assistant, you have an extended responsibility for the kitchen, storage, and laundry. You are an important part of developing our working methods.

You will be part of a team consisting of nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors.

Working hours are during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience working closely with patients and an understanding of working in a care department. You should also have approved grades from primary school. You provide good service and have a desire to do everything to increase safety for both patients and their relatives. Enjoying working together in a team and building relationships is important for you in the role of healthcare assistant. As part of a team with us, openness and good communication are essential. Together we create a pleasant workplace.

Experience in patient-centered care within the department's specialties is an advantage. Experience working according to our hygiene routines and knowledge of these is also an advantage. Having completed Sahlgrenska University Hospital's training for healthcare assistants is a plus. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The position is a 6-month temporary contract.

What do we offer you?

To ensure you feel secure in your new role, you will, if necessary, be able to attend Sahlgrenska University Hospital's training for healthcare assistants. This training lasts for ten weeks and includes ten days of theory alongside practical guidance at your workplace. If you are already trained as a healthcare assistant, you will receive a structured introductory training. There will be a designated mentor at your new workplace.
